Major Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area endured intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were wounded.

The attacks come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
